Sunday Smile: Kenya’s Stylish Headwear

For years, we’ve been sharing photos of some of the Asian elephants sporting fashionable accessories in the form of hay hats. Maia, and Guillermina are known to toss hay all over themselves (as did Lady back in her day) and wear their hay often and proudly. They might put hay on their heads because it is hot and they want to keep the sun from beating down on them–but sometimes they seem to do it just to be silly. This Sunday Smile shows Kenya getting in on the fun. She’s playing with alfalfa hay, which doesn’t break apart as easily as what the Asian elephants eat, so hers doesn’t scatter, instead sitting in a perfect square on top of her head!

    So stylish! This looks like a square pill hat…she looks like Jackie Kennedy with big ears.
    Are Kenya’s front feet swollen, or is it the angle of the camera? You have said she has issues with her feet.

    She is in her Sunday go to meeting wear. She looks so pretty too. Her skin is looking better since she arrived right? Just like with us humans your skin has a lot to do with what you eat. Along with the other stuff she has available to her now.
