This is the video that Scott mentioned in the previous post and video from earlier today. Claire was kind enough to quickly edit a video so you can see the time-lapse version of it all. Ramba and Rana were already inside for breakfast, Rana is staying close because of Lady and Ramba stays with her for the most part. We brought them inside to see if Lady would feel more comfortable.
Lady was still in the habitat and Scott went out to see if she would come up into the barn for breakfast. She could see they were in there, but she chose to follow and go inside. We had Rana eat in the chute so that only one elephant would be connected to Lady’s stall, hoping that would be easier. And since she seems most comfortable with Ramba, we left her inside. The rest you can see. She stayed for a bit and then decided she was done. Ramba didn’t reach out or do anything to cause concern for Lady, she simply seems to reach a limit and decides to go.
Scott then brought Lady’s breakfast to her outside, so she could eat where she was comfortable. It’s good for her to be brave and get closer, but we aren’t going to force things. She’ll get there at her own pace.

SCOTT ?DO U THINK INFO GIVEN TO U WAS WRONG ABOUT LADY FIGHTING WITH OTHER ELEPHANTS?? I THINK IT WAS THE OTHER WAY, LADY HAS BEEN BEATEN UP MANY TIMES BY OTHER ELEPHANTS THATS WHY SHES SO LEARY AND HESITANT OF THE OTHER LADIES? PLUS I THINK IF SHE WAS AGGRESSIVE SHE LIKELY WOULD NOT HAVE TAIL HAIR LEFT,!
I THINK U R DOING A WONDERFUL JOB WITH HER!??I HOPE SHE IS WILLING SOON FOR THE LOVELY FOOT CARE! SHE NEEDS IT SO BAD! AND IF COURSE THE ACTUAL TOUCHING AND RUMBLE CHATTING WITH THE LADIES! I THINK TRANSITION FROM THE LIFE OF 6 YRS IN ZOO ALONE STEREOTYPING , THE CIRCUS ABUSE WILL TAKE TIME TO BUILD A SOUND CONFIDENCE! I SAW RANAS RESCUE AND HER QUIETNESS FOR MOST OF THE YEAR U TIL RAMBA CAME SHE LATCHED ONTO RAMBA FOR A SISTER FRIEND. ALTHOUGH RAMBA HAS NOT BEEN AT SANCTUARY TOO LONG. SHES STILL QUIET AT TIMES RESERVED!
THEN MAIA IS. NOW HOLDING BACK SOMEWHAT FROM RANA AND RAMBA!
BUT! WE HAVE ALOT OF DYNAMICS YET TO SEE AND PRAY? THAT WILL DEVELOP‼️ KEEPING US UPDATED TOO US A BIG JOB!!! WE LOVE ❤️THESE BIG ?LADIES???? SO MUCH?❤️
