Guille Starts the Morning With a Party

VOLUME UP for an elephant party! Maia, Guillermina, and Bambi eat together almost every meal. You’ve probably seen many videos of them greeting the day together in a very silly, vocal way. A lot of times, Maia will start with some trumpets while Bambi rumbles, and then Guille will offer up a squeak or two. In this instance, Guille was the one who started the party, heading toward Scott and her breakfast with a head full of steam and some of her special noises for good measure.

When Guille and her mother Pocha first arrived at sanctuary, they made such grand, loud, and celebratory sounds that were completely unique. Guille in particular would chirp, almost like a seal. After Pocha died, Guille lost some of those vocalizations, much like Maia did when Guida passed away. And just as Maia regained her voice after some time, Guille is now embracing hers as well.

    A new day to celebrate at breakfast. I imagine Guille is regaining that joy, that was dimmed when Pocha died. The love and nurture she has received at GSE, brightens her joy again. May Guille bark like a seal again. So cute.🦭❤️

    What a way to start the day! I love the rumbles and the special noises from Guile 🥰 obviously they love seeing Scott, they know he brings goodies, these girls are so cute! ❤️🐘🐘🐘❤️

    I have always loved the way Scot interacts so lovingly and playfully with the girls; they adore him.
    We only get to see some of their time together, but it’s so obvious there’s a real mutual admiration thingy going on at GSE with Scot and all the beautiful elephants .
