Sunday Smile: Swishing Ears

This week’s Sunday Smile focuses on Pupy’s beautiful ears. Whether she’s flapping them out of contentment, to cool herself, or simply to swat bugs away (and there are lots of bugs this time of year), or just being an expressive African elephant, she’s showing off her gorgeous, majestic ears. Over the years, we’ve come to celebrate the simple moments of sanctuary life that bring joy, and hearing the gentle swish of a content elephant’s ears never fails to relax you if you’re quiet enough to appreciate it.

We’re not going to put a date on her transport. We’ll allow her to get ready on her own time.

Yes indeed that’s one thing about African elephants those fabulous glorious ears of theirs! Is their any reason for the difference between the two African VS. Asian? Thanks guys 🦋💞

Ears act as thermoregulators, meaning that they help dissipate heat. It’s thought that because African elephants live in warmer climates than Asian elephants, their ears are larger.
