Sunday Smile: Pupy From Above

This week, our Sunday Smile gives us a look at the female African habitat taken from the sanctuary water tower. You can see how far the yards stretch out as you get farther away from the barn. For her part, Pupy is playing in the mud, squishing it around with her trunk. It is just another simple moment in sanctuary life as seen from afar.

Are you going to get her some friends so she won’t be alone?

Yes! We’re working to bring Kenya, another female African elephant, to sanctuary soon. She’s currently working on her crate training at the Ecoparque Mendoza.

The opening shot from above is fantastic. I get a sense of the vastness of the land. And when I compare it to the previous spaces each of these elephants had, well it brings a tear to my eye. It’s just lovely there are people in the world who care enough to make this happen for these magnificent creatures.

Stunning! Just a suggestion: I think you should post a drone video right away after each relocation so that the fans of the new elephant can see right away how vast the sanctuary is and see their loved elephant living a stunningly beautiful new life.
