Sunday Smile: Maia’s Rainbow

February 1, 2026

Female Asian elephant Maia stands facing away from the camera. Over her right shoulder is a rainbow. It was the end of the day and caregivers were headed to feed Bambi, Maia, and Guille. They saw Guille by the fence, but couldn’t find the other two elephants for a couple of minutes. Eventually they popped out of the woods by the pond, which has been a popular spot lately. That’s when they caught this week’s Sunday Smile: a glimpse of Maia from behind, standing under a beautiful sanctuary rainbow. Happy Sunday to all!
