Sunday Smile: Lots to Say

August 10, 2025

In case you’ve forgotten how incredible Maia, Bambi, and Guile’s vocalizations are, this week’s Sunday Smile is a little reminder of how much joy their trumpets and rumbles can bring. Maia (center) and Bambi (left) decided to have a party and, at first, Guillermina (right) stood behind them, listening. Then, after a few seconds, Guille put out a squeaky rumble and joined in the fun. Guille isn’t always as outspoken as the other two ladies, so it’s always a delight to hear her chime in with a commentary of her own.

Would you say that Asian elephants are more vocal than the African elephants?
