Rana’s Rescue Has Been Funded!

Thank you to everyone who gave and shared towards Rana’s rescue. We are thrilled to say, between our website and Facebook fundraisers, we reached the goal needed to bring Rana home to sanctuary We are moving forward with finalizing contracts this morning to solidify dates for her rescue. If everything gets approval in the next 24-hours, Rana will be home just in time for the holidays.

Scott and I have found ourselves turning to each other in the middle of doing random things saying “we have another elephant coming,” and giggling like little kids. Although we’re excited for ourselves, the biggest anticipation is for Maia and Guida and the exponential growth that comes when an elephant supports another elephant through their journey of healing at sanctuary.

The initial emotional road at sanctuary isn’t always easy. Most elephants have a lot to work through and a past that is sometimes full of darkness. This is where Maia and Guida come in, offering a support and understanding we can’t possibly give as humans. During their time here, Maia and Guida have supported each other, but at the same time they were healing themselves. This will be different, this will show them more of what being a herd member truly means.

We will be sharing updates with you as more of the details are finalized. And of course, Rana’s journey from the hotel until her arrival. Thank you to everyone who has made this possible. GSE has some of the most dedicated supporters, believing in our mission and adoring the girls. GSE is definitely small but mighty and we can’t be that without you.
