More Rain Means More Mud - Which Means Happy Elephants

More Rain Means More Mud – Which Means Happy Elephants

November 27, 2021

As the rainstorms become more frequent, the elephants are taking full advantage of the mud that comes along with it. During a recent visit to Yard 4, Scott was near the trough and saw Bambi, Mara, and Rana all either emerging from the pond or still splashing around in it. All three of them were absolutely covered in mud. Maia was also nearby in the mud wallow and was completely covered, too.

All of the girls enjoy a good mud bath and, on this day, their smiles and charming energy lasted for hours.

I may be part elephant 😉
As a kid, I loved to play in rain puddles and mud! Perhaps not as enthusiastically as the girls, but I can identify with the sentiment 🤗
Thanks for sharing.

I remember as a child walking through warm mud in my bare feet. Pure bliss!

Elephants wallowing in mud have always been some of my favorite animal videos of all time. It’s just wonderful to see them getting such enjoyment and glee from it.
