Because Mara is sometimes the last to respond to Bambi and Rana’s nighttime parties, you might assume that she’s not as vocal as the rest of the elephants. But that isn’t always true.

This video was taken on an easygoing morning, right before breakfast. When Scott appeared and started filming a video, Mara had something to say about that. She wanted her food, please and thank you. You get a brief clip of her chirping here, which is a gentle reminder to hand over her food. Scott, of course, did provide their breakfast as scheduled, and the light mood of the elephants continued throughout the morning.
