Hot mornings make for lazy elephants. And that’s exactly what we have here: a sleepy Maia and Guille. When the weather is as warm as it is at the moment, no one wants to move too quickly – neither the elephants, the people, nor the chickens.
A slow-moving Guillermina has her trunk drowsily hanging over the fence – but she’s not so dozy that she won’t play with the lock on the water trough. (Elephants are curious beings, so you can see why we keep locks on the waterers.) Maia just finished a giant jackfruit, a favorite of hers, and wandered over to get a drink. Neither seems in a hurry to do anything else but take their time in the moment and get some cooling relief from the sun.
