Day 2 With Baby: Late Night Van Update

Scott gives a brief update and tries to answer some questions before comments disappear. After a short stop with Baby, Scott connects from the van to let everyone know how things are going. They will be stopping in a few hours for the night so that Baby and the team can get some much-needed rest. The schedule is still to arrive at the sanctuary at some point tomorrow, most likely afternoon/late afternoon.

Do you think…hope…that once she is past any quarantine. .she and Guille will get along due to their ages?

There’s no way to guess who is going to resonate with whom. Sometimes opposites attract. And sometimes elephants get along initially and then part ways (Bambi and Mara). So we never try to guess who will become close. Often what we ‘want’ has nothing to do with what they want.

Ty to all of you who give your precious time and selfishness for Baby and the other ladies. I’m very excited to see how she starts to enjoy and live in her new home. I’m most excited to watch her get introduced to the other ladies. Do you have other elephants that are on the waiting list to come to Sanctuary?

yes, there are several judicial processes that other animal groups have brought forward. but we never know how those will go.

He is, although he lived in Canada for years, but it’s a long story. Very short summary: Scott starting working with elephants at the age of 15 in Canada, left there to co-found the first expansive space elephant sanctuary in the US, left there to bring the same healing to elephants globally, and co-founded a sanctuary in Brazil.

About what time will the arrival be in US central time? I know it’s always a ‘guestimate’, just wanting a general time frame, or is there a live link to the group bringing her home?

Arrival should be around 2 central, but that is just a guestimate.
