Dr Mateus, Elephant Sanctuary Brazil’s vet, talks a little bit about Baby’s physical health and issues. As our followers know, diagnostics are limited in elephants, so we were grateful for Baby’s recent and past bloodwork to get a better picture of her overall health. Along with what Mateus mentioned, there are some recent shifts in bloodwork that will have to be monitored, and like the rest of the girls, a care plan will be made specifically for her. She also has some foot issues, both back and front, with the most significant being her back right. Her feet are far from the worst we’ve seen, but feet hide a lot below the surface. She continues to do well on the road and we will keep you posted. Thank you for following and sharing. Your support makes this all possible.

Help take extra special care of an elephant that is close to your heart.

She’s going to be thrilled after she’s acclimated to her new surroundings considering where she was and how she was living this is literally going to be paradise for her! Thanks everyone for all hard work getting Baby home 💞🐘💜

June 19, 2026 at 6:02 pmIt’s really wonderful that her current home has embraced her move and been able to provide past medical history as well as working with everyone for the best outcome with her move. We know all too well, their keepers love them and always want the best for them but sometimes administrations, governments, courts, & politics, get in the way. It’s really nice when it all comes together for the best for the elephant. I am so excited to get to know Baby!!
