GivingTuesday and Our Big Announcement!

Today is GivingTuesday, a day for our sanctuary family to come together in community and raise funds for the future of the elephants. With great excitement, we can finally reveal the big surprise we’ve been hinting at: Kenya and Pupy’s permits have been approved! One of the crates has been sent to Argentina, and we are making plans for next steps. While we don’t have an exact timeline, we recognize what a big development this is and wanted to share it with you, since you’ve been at our side throughout this complicated journey.

Soon, Pupy will have the chance to graze freely and on her own schedule. As she mourns her lifelong companion, Kuky, she will eventually have the opportunity to establish new bonds with another elephant, should that be something she desires. Kenya will finally know the freedom to walk amongst the natural elements, dipping in the cooling pond or dusting herself with sand and mud. For the first time in decades, she will be able to build a relationship with another elephant, if that’s what her heart desires.

All elephants deserve space to search their souls for self-growth and actualization. There’s something so healing about having room to explore nature. Sanctuary life can offer exactly what an elephant needs to move forward after years of confinement in unnatural environments. Our fundraising goal of $50,000 will make a huge difference as we continue to expand the habitat, which will allow for greater opportunities to heal. The first phase of the female African habitat expansion has been completed, and by building out additional yards, we can provide Kenya, Pupy, and any elephant still to come with the best possible home.

On this GivingTuesday, your contribution will be matched up to $20,000 thanks to a generous donor. Double your donation by giving today.

We are honored to have your support, now and as we look to the future. Your impact on the elephants at Elephant Sanctuary Brazil cannot be overstated. As we approach the future with open hearts, we hope you will be a part of the change that is yet to come. Kenya and Pupy’s lives will change forever because of your support, as have those of the elephants currently calling ESB home. Our hope only grows stronger as we make preparations for an exciting new future.

P.S.: Are you looking for a special holiday gift for yourself or someone you care about?
