Elephant Food Prep

If you’ve ever wondered what it takes to feed six elephants in a day, have we got some delicious video for you! On this particular afternoon, we received a delivery of produce which was sorted, processed, the excess stored, and the day’s food distributed in buckets for each elephant to enjoy. (Our prep staff is amazing.) What we receive each week is an impressive amount of food. This video shows our elephant kitchen, which our staff uses for prep – cutting up fruits and vegetables, making grain balls for medicine, sorting what each elephant needs (and likes to eat) and generally preparing all meals for the six girls here. With your help, we’re able to provide all of this bountiful food for the ladies in our care. This is just a small glimpse into what it takes to feed a herd for one morning.
