Another Mud Wallow for Pupy

You may remember that Pupy made a major mud wallow in Yard 1 using the water from a nearby trough. She’s getting very good at this, digging them deeper and deeper. Only occasionally we have to fill the holes back up because she often pushes some dirt and mud back in, probably so she can dig another one she feels is bigger and better.

She drops water down on the ground, then uses her feet to make mud and dig around. It’s amazing how deep she manages to get the new wallows. In this video, she is almost in as far as her elbows. We’re keeping a close eye on her handiwork, ensuring that she and Kenya don’t  have any problems stepping out of them, so she continues to make more at almost every trough in the African habitat. Amusingly enough, as the camera pans over you can see how close Club Mud–the actual mud wallow–is to her. We’ve seen multiple African elephants who actually prefer the muddy puddles they make to the larger manmade wallows or ponds. It seems that sometimes Pupy may enjoy that approach as well.

I think she’s smarter than all y’all and she planning an escape. 😂 or is Kenya on the other side of that fence? Think about, deeper then most African elephants dig, right by the fence. 😝 lol

Where would she be wanting to escape to? 😂 And, no, Kenya was not nearby.
