It’s not just hard to get all three ladies together in photos, it’s video as well. This morning the girls were nice and mellow, grazing their way deeper into the habitat. They were all very close, but one seemed out of camera shot at all times. As Maia and Rana shifted closer to where Guida was, Scott also shifted his position. This, and Maia and Rana heading that way was enough to cause Guida to trot on over to say hi to Scott, who was on the other side of the fence.
Although there is a fence between them, this causes Scott to leave them be. Part of the reason being that we don’t want the girls to think that one of them is getting something, which can cause them to all come over looking for food, disturbing the peace and their natural behaviors. We also try to not give Guida a reason to become food possessive, since she had regressed a bit with that after being sick.
