The “Powerpuff Girls” Take a Stroll

While Lady has been spending time in the male Asian yard, the rest of the elephants are sharing the larger yards. Now that Bambi is feeling better – though, as we mentioned, her leg is stiff – she is back to venturing out.

The afternoon has been lovely and we’ve heard several small elephant parties throughout the day. In this video, you can see Rana, Mara, and Bambi all standing together, with Maia in the background. They’ve opted for a calm day of grazing and snacking, while Guille is not too far off  exploring.

What a lovely scene, Maia seems tentative … hoping Bambi’s leg improves

Maia isn’t always in the middle of the group, but sometimes she’s right there with the others. I suppose it just has to do with her mood.

Please tell me how having, stomach, issues contributes to having a stiff leg for “Bambi”?

They’re completely unrelated issues. Because Bambi is getting older, many things can cause tweaks and soreness. She’s doing well though and it doesn’t seem to slow her down very much.

Thanks for your quick response, Is “Bambi” ‘s, stiff, leg permanent?

We don’t know. It’s possible that it could be, but only time will tell. We still put a topical mixture on it daily as a way to help with stiffness. She’s a determined girls and, as we’ve seen in other elephants, they can adjust to many a health road bump.

I don’t know who was in the middle but she certainly was efficient in getting all the hay pile together for her taking. So cute!
