Sunday Smile: Maia’s Watermelon

While all elephants have their favorite kinds of fruits and vegetables, it’s rare to find an elephant who doesn’t like watermelon. In fact, all of the girls here are fans of the fruit. For this week’s Sunday Smile, we captured a moment with Maia, as she crushes her watermelon, breaking it into small bite-sized pieces. Some elephants hold their fruit gingerly, some stomp it on the ground to break it up, and others just go for it with a hearty chomp. Maia has given hers a smash with her foot and is leaving no bite behind as she thoroughly enjoys her juicy snack.

Just wondering whether you grow your own watermelons or pumpkins or any other feed crop?
