Some of the elephants at sanctuary have de-pigmented parts of their body, like their ears and noses. It can be a genetic occurrence, or can be influenced by things like nutrition and habitat, and the color changes most often with age. For this week’s Sunday Smile, you have a look at the gorgeous pattern Maia displays on her ears and nose. Beauty is all around at sanctuary – even in the most unexpected of places.

Help take extra special care of an elephant that is close to your heart.
