Sunday Smile: Guille’s Backside

This week’s Sunday Smile shows off one of Guillermina’s good sides. (Note: they’re all her good side!) You can see that she’s standing next to a tree that has some bark peeled off. Guille did part of that herself; there are marks where she used her tush to strip the bark – something Asian elephants don’t often do. The bark has also been worn down in some areas by elephants scratching their bodies against the tree.

Is this the famous itchy scratchy tree? Or did Guille find another?
