Pocha and Guillermina Leave Argentina and Cross Into Brazil!

Here, we are sharing two videos – the first shows Pocha and Guillermina in their last moments in Argentina.

The second live video captures Pocha and Guille crossing over into Brazil as our human teams from Argentina and Brazil meet up. The internet drops partway through, so there’s a bit of a break in the video. A little bit of paperwork to finalize, and then the drive through Brazil begins. Follow along as the tired team cries while bringing the girls home to Elephant Sanctuary Brazil Sorry that audio is not ideal with the phone out of the window, but we wanted to capture the moment.

Welcome to Brazil, P&G!

Hy are the dots not updated as in previous rescues. It stays the same from morning to night and only changes once a day?

      Sara says

We update them as often as we can. They are being updated a couple of times a day, if possible. There have been stretches of area that do not have good reception, so we don’t always get a correct GPS location. We have to wait for reception to improve before we can get an accurate location marker. We’ll keep updating as much as possible.

Ps I love it most when ordinary people step up, and do what ever they can. They quite possibly didn’t know the issues, they learnt them, and they helped, this is the amazing size of humanity. Such a relief to see wonderful Argentinians in this light, strong, in spite of their oh so difficult history. A good escape from …don’t talk about the war…you know where

I watched the entire week, and today (thurs). It was amazing the team of people working together, and the calmness of the elephants, and wondered if the darkness of the night was a calming experience for the girls, or if they can still feel the vastness around them, especially the daughter. Thank you, for everyone’s work, vulnerability to changes and things not quite as planned, yet always aware of what was best for the girls. I cannot imagine how exhausted everyone must be, the ele’s included after the last 5 days of travel and today, stepping into their new home, their new life. Thank you to everyone involved !!!!!
