Playful Maia, Bambi, and Guillermina

Dr. Trish was walking past the observation camera recently and caught sight of Maia, Bambi, and Guillermina being absolutely silly. Maia was in the pond and emerged rather quickly to greet Bambi. Just after that, Guille practically ran toward the other two, joining them in a lighthearted reunion. 

There was a bit of gentle nudging and everyone’s tails were pointed straight out, signaling their excitement. And it was all good excitement. Maia and Guillermina took turns backing into one another in a teasing way. In fact, you can see Maia kneeling down several times as she leans into Guille. Bambi gets in on the fun and she and Guille make a bit of a Maia sandwich. All three girls are dusting or kicking up dirt – anything they can do to get a little messy. By the end of the video, it looks like the elephants are practically dancing around one another in a celebration of good friends and high spirits. 

P.S.: Because this is a video taken from our security camera, there is no sound. We promise there’s nothing wrong with your ears!

    What a joyous and fun video!!! I don’t remember getting to see the girl’s so animated before and had to watch it several times! seeing Guille with her broom-like tail running around, and Maia going down on her knees, you could just tell they were having fun which is all I could ever ask to see!! Bambi just kept enjoying the dirt tossing, lol, and didn’t seem phased at all. Thank you for sharing the video, it was one of the best for me 🥰😂! Thank you as always for all you do at Sanctuary. ❤️🐘❤️🐘❤️

    Wheaties for breakfast? I’m thinking this was a very noisy party. It makes me so happy that they’re so happy and having so much fun!
