This week, Bambi and Maia have been spending some time in the back portion of Yard 5. They seem to enjoy the good grazing in that spot. Yesterday, they returned from their trip and met up with Guillermina back on the near side of the yard. It was breakfast time, so they must have crossed overnight to return to their friend.
It was a very short lived visit, because by dinner they were already back to their spot across the creek. Guille was still uninterested in following them, appearing perfectly happy to be where she was. Maia wanders a lot, so we’re used to her traversing the habitat when the mood strikes. However, Bambi hasn’t, to our knowledge, gone over and across twice, essentially within 24 hours. Those two elephants get around fantastically for two “grandmas”.
