Guille’s Chirps and Squeaks and Trumpets

It was time for Bambi’s morning eye drops, and she was working with her caregivers alongside the fence while Maia was hanging in the barn, with access to the outside if she wanted it. By the end of Bambi’s treatment, Guille joined her, walking from her spot in Yard 5 over to where the other two girls were hanging out in Yard 1.

After a minute, Guille started a little chorus of engaging vocalizations, which was nice to watch, not only because it was beyond adorable, but because Maia and Bambi are usually the ones who start the chorus. The first noise she makes sounds almost like an African elephant trumpet, which she may have heard from Kenya when they were at the Mendoza ecoparque together. We have no way of knowing if she was trying to recreate that noise, but it was intriguing to hear. She had a cheeky smile and was making some excited sounds. Her squeaky noises made an appearance, as did her signature chirps and burps and typical trumpets. Maia and Bambi joined Guille as she continued her song and dance along the fence. She tosses some dirt in the air and you get several good glimpses of her little tushes in her mouth–something we don’t often get to see.

Could it be she is telepathic and feels the vibrations that Kenya will be sharing ESB with her???
