Guillermina Rushes to Join the Others

The elephants have made their own mud wallow in Yard 4. Oftentimes, they like the ones they make better than the ones we build for them. (As long as they’re happy, that’s the most important thing.) We spent the morning working on Bambi’s treatments and then did some footwork on Maia and Guillermina. Maia then walked away, followed by Bambi a short time later. Bambi’s ears were out and she seemed focused completely on getting to Maia – and to the mud she was splashing in. 

As soon as Bambi got close to Maia, Bambi started making some vocalizations. Guille hears this and excitedly starts heading toward her friends, at a rapid pace. You can see Maia catch sight of her coming their way quickly. However, once Guille got closer, she slowed her pace and became quite respectful of her friends and the mood they were projecting. She definitely didn’t want to be left out of the party at the mud wallow.

    Oh yes Guillie. Didnt want all the mud used up before she got to mud wallow. She was very excited almost running into MAIA AND BAMBI. I see Guillie had hay on her back and a big clump in her mouth. I guess she had takeout lunch@!

    She was really moving! It’s great to see them accelerate like that. All that energy was stifled for all those years.
