On an early morning trip through the sanctuary, Scott caught these three ladies already in the pond. He remembers being surprised they were interested in swimming, since it had rained the night before. But all three had been fully submerged and appeared content to start their day. You can hear a soft rumble or two.
Here you can see Mara being the last to get out of the pond, with Rana walking up from behind to join Mara and Bambi. The three fall quickly into their typical formation, with Mara in the lead, followed by Bambi, and Rana.
