At the end of breakfast, the caregivers gave Bambi a big chunk of hay, as usual. We laid it down where she ate her meal and double checked that she knew it was there, since sometimes we need to ensure she knows where all of her food is. There have been lots of clouds and rain lately, so the morning sun came out alongside a clear, blue sky.

After the caregivers walked away, Bambi decided to take the rest of her hay into the shade by picking up a big trunkful and heading to the nearest tree. Guillermina was right there and decided to help her friend, so she scooted some of Bambi’s hay under the tree where she was also standing. Guille even went back for seconds, grabbing a flake of hay and returning to her spot under the tree to finish it off. Bambi didn’t seem to mind the sharing and enjoyed her bites of hay under the cool canopy.
