Maia Calls To Bambi

May 21, 2024

In this video, Maia is at the fence in Yard 5. She was making big rumbles, calling for Bambi to come join her. (If you look closely at her forehead, you can see that it vibrates when she rumbles.) Bambi emerges from the bushes, taking her time to get to Maia. She heads to her friend’s side and they have a small reunion, where Maia touches Bambi with her trunk.

P.S.: You can see that Bambi still has a spot on the side of her head from when she laid down and had trouble standing back up. It’s being treated daily and doesn’t seem to bother her. All of her wounds from that incident are healing up very well.

Just beautiful and amazing! Had no idea about the vibrations way up there on their forehead. Does Bambi have an ankle injury? She’s stepping out wide on one leg – I thought she was Rana at first.

She does have a leg injury that we wrote about a while back. She still gets around well.

Wow!! That close up made her briefly look like a hump back whale! Incredible video!!

I still think, when Bambi was having a hard time getting up and Mara stood by while Maia went to lend support might have been the catalyst for the changing friendship. Yep, I’m projecting my humanity…lol. However it goes, it’s amazing to watch!!!

Thank you for these daily updates!
