A Chatty Bambi and Maia

In the evening after dinner, Bambi came upon some of the hay we spread throughout the habitat to keep the elephants engaged and moving around. Maia was with her, as usual, so the two of them stopped to snack for a few minutes. 

You can see that Maia is still keen on touching Bambi’s face in a loving way. Bambi seems to appreciate this, perhaps more now that she knows there’s a friend by her side as things get more challenging for her from a vision perspective. The two of them chat, squeak, and rumble their contentment to Scott, who encourages them to keep expressing themselves. 

Bambi generally becomes more confident as the evening progresses, since her vision seems to improve at night. The two will eventually meet up with Guillermina later, since the three of them have become quite the set of friends lately. These days, we almost always expect some excitement when there is a reunion of some sorts – no matter who is reuniting with whom.

    I LOVE HOW MAIA. IS ASSURING BAMBI SHE IS THERE FOR HER BY TOUCHING BAMBIES EYES AND NOSE. BAMBI HAS ALWAS BEEN A BIG TALL SPUNKY LADY. WITH VERY CARING SENSITIVE EMOTIONS!! WE SAW THIS WITH MARA …BAMBI WAS A GREAT CAREGIVER PROTECTER BUT MARA REALLY DID SOMETHING BAD TO BAMBI. SHE TURNED OFF MARA AND BECAME VERY FEARFUL AND ALL THESE MONTHS LATER. MARA HAS NOT GOT CLOSE BESIDE BAMBI. I GUESS LIKE HUMANS WHEN A GOOD FRIEND WRONGS UNJUSTLY WE MAKE A DECISION TO EXIT THAT FRIENDSHIP FOREVER!! POOR BAMBI I WISH SHE WAS STILL ABIT *PUPPY GOOFY*

    The three amigos!! A little off subject…I would LOVE to see the one hundred elephant art exhibit. Will it be coming anywhere near you?? It looks like it’s just stunning 😀
