For the 2019 Big Payback, we raised funds for firefighting supplies. One item on that list was a large water tanker, to provide us with a mobile water source. During the dry season, we keep the full water tanker nearby whenever anyone is welding for safety. Thankfully, we’ve never needed to use it for an emergency, but we like to be prepared. We store the tanker full of water and if the level gets low, we’ll empty the rest (on something like irrigation), and then refill it.
This video was filmed on one of those days that we needed to finish emptying it. When you have elephants, there is a fun option when you need to dump out a water tanker – and that’s to make some elephants ridiculously happy.
The entire video is big-cheesy-grin fantastic, but we wanted to mention a few moments that are not to be missed! Around 0:40 seconds in, Mara backs into the water stream and has a party. During her magical moment, you can see she places her trunk on top of her head to catch water. She ultimately decides not to drink it, but it’s easy to miss, so we wanted to point it out.
Since we know you can’t get enough of Mara & Rana’s parties, we included footage of the two of them chatting after the tanker runs out of water. Make sure you watch until the end, it’s a cute one!
Thanks again to everyone who donated to help us purchase this vital safety equipment and bringer of joy – as you can see, it is officially elephant approved!
