Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we raised an incredible $72,175.90 before the end of the auction. To close the gap on our $150,000 goal, long-time supporter, Sue Levin, stepped in with an $80,000 donation, securing the final funding needed for the sanctuary’s first medical building.

When I realized I could bridge the gap between what the silent auction raised and what the project would cost, there was no going back. I have watched GSE grow with remarkable integrity, compassion and consistently high standards over the years and I knew it was the perfect moment to jump in.

It is truly thrilling to be able to do something that is so meaningful and exciting—for the elephants, the organization, and frankly, for me—as we all now get to witness this medical building come to life. My heartfelt thanks go to fellow supporters, and of course, to the extraordinary GSE staff whose dedication makes this work possible every single day.

As Margaret Mead said, “Never underestimate the power of a small group of committed people to change the world. In fact, it’s the only thing that ever has.”
