Beautiful Guida letting us know that even in the dry season, the property is just what an elephant needs. Guida is tossing her hay over her head in the photo. This is something we saw during the Spring in TN as well. Hay was a bug repellant and sunscreen, grass is for eating.
The hay we feed the girls is grass hay, high quality, shipped from the South, because we couldn’t find anything up to par any closer. The hay is lovely, matter of fact, everyone that has visited from the agricultural agencies always touches and smells it in awe. Nature just seems to do a much better job at providing the variety the elephants love. Fortunately, it does that all year round here.
