Scott and Kat joined us today for a Facebook Live with Mara and her sisters. We know that there is some false information and unfortunate lies being spread about the health and treatment of our elephants right now. Our loyal supporters know that we take pride in our transparency and we assure you that we’ll continue to keep you informed along every step of each elephant’s journey.
All of our elephants here, including Mara, are healthy and doing well, and we’re doing what we can to make sure that Pocha and Guillermina are being cared for with the same respect and love.
For those who have trouble identifying Mara, it is simple. She has a malformed right wrist, which is something she has had since she was a calf. She has distinct ears, but also, no one has golden eyes like Mara’s.
Also, apologies for the vertical video, we were recording horizontally, not sure what happened. And…for the fingers in the screen. We were recording with a gimbal knowing Scott might have to climb the fence in order to see the girls, and it shut off in the middle, the phone fell, and we couldn’t see that our fingers were in the way. Sometimes these things happen!

August 30, 2021 at 7:00 pmI’m so sorry for the troubles. I’m glad our ladies at Sanctuary Brazil have no idea of the BS, and I hope these people realize that they should not interfere with the chance that is being given to Pocha and Guillermina. I will keep my fingers crossed for them, and for you all as well. Just know you are appreciated, trusted, and loved, humans and elephants and all creatures great and small in your Sanctuary.

August 30, 2021 at 8:01 pmI can’t believe there are people who could even contemplate criticizing the work you do. There seem to be trolls around every corner these days. Best ignored and not given air time. I’m just sorry you have to deal with any sort of negativity. Not, certainly, from the vast majority of us. We love what you do … and we love you.

August 30, 2021 at 10:12 pmYour true loyal supporters know exactly how much you love these girls respect them and give them the best care anywhere all we have to do it look at them we see the amazing wonderful changes in them in fact the abusive cruel horrible conditions they came from to where they are now at home in peace and tranquility at the sanctuary or as I like to call it “Heaven on Earth” speaks volume and proves that their terrible attacks are baseless. Thank you everyone for all your hard work and dedication to these girls who wouldnt be alive if not for you Scott, Kat and crew because of your dream your vision of such a massive compassionate undertaking have given life back to the abused and hopeless! As you know we have been with G.S.E. Brazil for years and arent going anywhere either in fact we cant get enough we could watch hour after hour of videos of these beautiful gorgeous girls we are one big global happy family and families stick together just ask the girls 💞

Yeah, I would just stay off social media as much as you can. That said, I know you have to do a certain amount of it. Ellie-love to all ❤️

September 2, 2021 at 2:45 pmI’m so sorry you’re having to deal with a bunch on nonsense from those small-minded people who have nothing better to do than attack you and your work. Often that’s just some form of spite or jealousy of someone who’s doing a great thing, which you are doing! Our ladies are all looking content and healthy, enjoying a real elephant’s life, living the dream! These beautiful ladies have beautiful souls, and so do you folks!
