Beautiful and smiley Rana. Hanging out at the far southern corner of the habitat. First, she took a nice little mud bath, then got a drink, and then seemed like she was considering a nap. The life of a sanctuary elephant. 😉
We found ourselves joking today that there isn’t much ‘excitement’ when you offer them a natural life. Eat, bathe, socialize, mosey, eat some more, nap, socialize, repeat. All very perfect in its own way.

August 13, 2019 at 8:30 pmDoes Rana lie down to sleep? If so does Maia ever watch over her and visa versa? Love the posts, I hang on every word. Much love.

August 14, 2019 at 10:50 amRana does lie down to sleep. They said at the hotel that she is good to lie down on her one side, but struggles if she lies down on the other. This isn’t something we’ve witnessed here, but we do keep it in mind. At this point neither girl has stood over the other while they are sleeping. They’re just not that close yet.
