This week’s Sunday Smile features a very relaxed Mara. After breakfast one morning, she found one of the little piles of hay that are spread throughout the habitat. They aren’t hidden, but they’re scattered in different areas each day with the idea that looking for them will keep the elephants’ active and engaged and also to try to prevent one elephant with a larger appetite from eating all of the hay. The girls undoubtedly enjoy finding the extra snacks when they come upon them. Here, Mara is slowly savoring a few bites and making the best of her afternoon.
