Sprucing Up the Crates With Our New Backhoe

After nearly a year in Mendoza, our transport crates need a little love before they can be used again. Though it was needed in the case of Pocha and Guillermina, the crates aren’t made for daily use, for such a long time period. The repairs and updates must be made before any other relocations can be undertaken, so we want to make sure all is well as soon as possible. Because of international sanitary regulations, a fair bit of work always needs to be done on the crates after each rescue, but there is much more that needs to be done this time.

Thanks to each of you who gave through The Big Payback fundraiser, we were able to purchase a new backhoe, which will help us with many things – among them some of the needed improvements to the crates. In fact, we put the shiny new machine to work on just that as one of its first tasks. (A major bonus as far as our ESB staff is concerned is the air conditioning in the cab.) Thank you again to all of our supporters. Your donations were put into action as soon as possible!
