Living in the middle of nowhere has its advantages, but also some challenges. While messaging through phone is possible at the barns, walkie talkies are needed to communicate in the habitats. These are used to discuss where elephants are located, when it’s safe to close gates, when feed is done, and enable us to make sure elephants and caregivers are safe.
