The elephants that arrive at sanctuary are far from healthy, and it’s up to us to get them on the right track. Decades of improper diets can cause major health issues, and in order for them to feel good emotionally, they need to feel good physically.

This basket is full (40 kgs. each) of the grain they receive both at breakfast and dinner. It allows us to monitor their food intake, deliver needed supportive supplements and they LOVE it! Along with their grains, the basket contains probiotics, which helps get their gut flora re-established so their body can make the most of the food they eat. Stress deteriorates healthy flora and these probiotics will help bring them back in force. This is also part of their life-long care here at the sanctuary.
