Scott is currently in Buenos Aires ensuring that Mara’s transport crate is set up properly. Her relocation to Elephant Sanctuary Brazil is expected to occur in late March or early April. She still must undergo a 30-day quarantine prior to her international transport. The EcoParque requested her transport crate be there and available during her entire quarantine period, not just the last week as is typical with our rescues and transports.
As many viewers have noticed, her right ankle does not go down straight, it’s on a bit of an angle. It’s related to an old injury that did not heal properly. It does not seem to affect her movement, only her gait. It definitely does not affect her cuteness – as everyone can see, she is very, very cute.

February 26, 2020 at 8:56 pmOh, and I can’t help wondering about the others–Pocha and Guillermina and the boys. I love them and I LOVE ESB SO MUCH. It’s hard to be patient. Easy for me–You guys have to do all the work. If you see Pocha and Guillermina when you are at the Ecoparque, please tell them that Grandma Patricia sends her love!

Little does she know it’s the start of a new life for her. I am very excited and will be counting down the days until she comes home! A big virtual hug and kiss for her for me!
