Scott and Lady in the Rain

The rainy season hasn’t been as intense this year as in previous years, which means that sometimes there are longer breaks between showers than we would expect. But, as you know, rain makes for happy elephants. Here, Scott takes a few moments to enjoy the refreshing weather with Lady, who is enjoying her time in the male yards.

Lady is still receiving all of her medications and alternative therapies. She has moments when she is more tired than others but, as you can see from the video, she is still finding ways to enjoy the luscious, tall grass. The sound of the gentle rainfall makes this scene comforting and relaxing – perhaps the perfect thing to listen to at night when you’re drifting off to sleep.

Well, I feel refreshed! I’m so glad that precious Lady knows all her humans mean nothing but good for her. At least I’m guessing she does.

Sara, can I make a request? Can you periodically do posts about Kenya and Tamy ands explain why it is taking so long and where you’re up to? They are never mentioned, you never really elaborate on the fact that Mara has been at ESB since Covid started and Kenya was meant to be next but she’s still languishing in Argentina. And now with the new government it might be delayed even more but again- you never post anything about it. It makes it look like they aren’t a priority, even though I know that’s not the case.

We’d love to be able to post an update on them, but truthfully we don’t have anything to report. We aren’t in control of any part of those rescues. We have to rely on the ecoparque to complete Tamy’s training and we’re still waiting on permits for Kenya. The ecoparque has a new director, so we don’t get the updates we once did. Essentially we know just about as much as you do. It’s definitely frustrating, but we absolutely haven’t forgotten about them.

Hi Scott. Is it possible to get DMSO ..USED ON VERY SORE RACE HORSES FOR PAIN AND SWELLING. OR DICLOFENAC10%PLUS ADD 10%GABAPENTIN AND10% PAIN FREEZING
IN THIS CREAM.??? HUMANS USE THIS FOR VERY SEVERE PAIN. MY FRIEND HAS IT AND IT WORKS. MAYBE HAVE VET WRAP HER LEGS WITH TRENSOR BANDAGES AT NIGHT AND SHE COULD SLEEP ON SANDDUNE IN BARN AREA NIGHT ONLY AS BUSHES MAY GRAB HER TENSORS OFF. ITS JUST A THOUGHT??? TO SEE IF THIS WILL REDUCE HER PSIN AND SWELLING. HER FRONT LEGS LOOK SO SWOLLEN AND SHE CAN BARELY WALK. I KNOW U WANT HER IN THE JUNGLE PARADISE SHE NEVER HAD FOR DECADES AS DO WE ALL WANT HER COMFORTABLE AND ENJOYING LIFE IN JUNGLE. JUST A SUGGESTION……. MAYBE U R DOING SOMETHING LIKE THIS ALREADY!
