Caregivers cleared out the mud wallow in Yard 4. They let the water drain and then dug out the dirt at the bottom of the wallow and refreshed it with new clay. It was refilled and Bambi, Rana, Guille, Mara, and Maia have been spending extra time there since. Bambi actually laid down in it and was squishing her butt all around to get it nice and muddy. Mara and Rana also spent a good amount of time there. Part of taking care of the girls includes freshening things up from time to time so that the girls can luxuriate in a nice fashion.

August 15, 2023 at 8:19 pmBambi looks great. Somehow, she looks serious and happy. Perhaps she is just seriously happy with her cleaned up mud wallow.

August 16, 2023 at 7:42 amI first came across GSE when they started working with Bambi at the zoo. This elephant here looks entirely different than that one three years ago. What an incredible transformation! I love being a follower of GSE.
