Rana’s Sincerity

We have written before about Rana’s soft personality; she is a caring soul, but more complex than many realize. It is important to acknowledge her role as a supportive sister within the herd, while also understanding that she has so many other aspects of her personality that should be acknowledged.

Lately, she has been showing a deep level of sincerity and ease. Being around an individual who is radiating that type of energy can be breathtaking. No matter how many times we experience it or see her each day, we tend to walk away with a feeling of peace. There are times when Rana does seem to be aloof but, once you really begin to look inside and see her, you understand how much is truly going on in her heart and mind. Sometimes she looks at you and you experience an emotion that is almost impossible to describe.

This open communication and comfort with expressing vulnerability and sensitivity would likely never have been an option for her in captivity. Most individuals who must keep themselves guarded, may not feel safe showing the levels of sincerity that Rana shows. When you approach her, she can project an energy that says, “Wait a minute. Look at me.” She wants you to really see her and make a connection that might last just a second. But when it happens, it’s rare to find the words to express how overwhelming the emotions can be.

What a tremendous post. It really transported me to having the feeling of being in the presence of these magnificent creatures at a close position. It gave me just a small sense of what that would be like. Thank you!

Beautiful Rana so very happy to know how she has blossomed into the true loving caring giving elephant she is today thanks to ESB and those around her who truly understand what’s going on inside her and sadly why. I sincerely hope her abusive past will someday be gone forever freeing her to teach us even more about these extremely intricate complex gentle giants who truly have so much to offer us and here we thought humans were the smart ones I tell you the more I learn about elephants the more I know otherwise I just hope they know how much we really love respect and appreciate every one of them…😘🐘💞

Rana is a beautiful complex old soul. If she was in any other setting except Global Sanctuary for Elephants I don’t
think her inner beauty and depth would be acknowledged. It takes caregivers like Scott and Kat and their crew to
see through and into Rana’s heart which shows the depth of their understanding for our lovely girls. Thank you all
    for your loving hearts.

This description of Rana made me cry with love and happiness for her. What a wonderful, forgiving soul she is after her life of slavery. I love her, and cherish the thoughts I have knowing she is at peace with her friends, and knowing she could not be with humans and a sanctuary where she loved and understood as the loving, intelligent soul that she is.

I don’t know who wrote this, but it takes a rare and gifted soul be able to recognize this level of radiance from another soul, especially a different-species soul, let alone be able to communicate it so beautifully. I am going to mark this one as one of my favorites. Was it you Kat?

What a lovely thing to say. I (Sara) wrote this, but it’s really just an interpretation of what Kat and Scott express to me. So thank you from all of us.

Absolutely spot on Julie – I appreciate the level of connection we sense here from Sara and Rana. A beautifully written post that transported me in front of Rana. More times than not, I gently stroke the elephants via the computer screen – as I have done again today. Even if not truly present, my spirit always soars with compassion and joy. Thank you Sara for keeping us all in wonder of these gentle, loving giants. 💝
