Recently, Rana was near the barn, so she got some soothing foot soaks. She gets them periodically because she has one nail that had issues when she arrived and can be problematic on occasion. Afterward, she almost immediately went to the gate that sits between Yard 1 and the male Asian yard. She seemed to really want to go into the male yard, so the caregivers opened it up for her. Lady was also in the yards near the barn, but separate from Rana. Lady was second in line for foot soaks and treatments and, once done, headed in the opposite direction of the male yard and went up into Yard 3.
Around dinner, when it was time to feed Rana and perhaps shift her over to where the other girls were eating, the caregivers found her all the way in the far end of the male yard – filling herself with grass and getting sleepy. Perhaps because they are used to her wandering lately, the other girls didn’t call for her to return to where they were staying. These days, when Rana doesn’t come back to meet them for a while, it simply makes for a bigger party when she actually does meet up with them. Everyone seemed calm and settled that evening, so we were fine with leaving them where they were. We can see the top corner of the male yard from the observation cameras, so we checked on her throughout the night to make sure she wasn’t waiting to be let out, but she never came to the corridor. The next morning, Rana was ready to come back and join the others in Yard 5 and she was welcomed with a great reunion by the rest of the Powerpuff Girls.
