Ramba Update

Ramba at the roadside zoo in Chile

It has been a bit since our last Ramba update. Things are the same with the process of bringing her to sanctuary. We want to provide a more in depth update, but we are trying to get an answer to one piece of the puzzle before we do. This piece was supposed to come weeks ago, but as usual, we are still waiting. But please don’t doubt that we will keep going until she is in Brazil. Elephant people are a very determined bunch.

From Consu in Chile:

“In here the energy is amazing i feel Rambita very comfortable this morning many flappy ears and also grazing a lot in her mysterious world hahaha !!! The hot start to feel inside the barn so that is a good chance to do…. Ice cream !!!! Yay !!!! She love it and are nice in this hot days ?? ”

For the record, they don’t give her real ice cream, they make smoothie blends with fruit and then freeze them.

Thank you for the update! Glad she is doing well .. I’m sure Consu has a great deal to do with the fact she is happy. Hopefully she will make it to you soon, or at least closer to getting there. Would be a wonderful Christmas / New Year’s gift!

We think there’s an element of fear, not on our part, but of authorities. They haven’t imported captive elephants into Brazil from other countries since they were declared endangered species, so we’re having to write the rules from scratch. There is definitely a reluctant, but we’re not going to let that stop Ramba from getting to sanctuary.
