Have you ever had the relaxing feeling of waking up to a light rain and knowing that you can do whatever you want, even if that is nothing? Even though the entire concept of sanctuary is autonomy, some mornings feel a little more relaxed and easygoing than normal.
We had a little rainstorm last night and the temperature dropped quite a bit. All five of the girls are in a very light space and finding spots to relax in their favorite spaces across the habitat.
Lady has been in Yard 5 for about a day now. She hasn’t come back to the barn for foot soaks, which is not a problem; we do treatment along the fenceline. We are just pleased that she seems to be in good spirits.
Rana was at the barn this morning, which doesn’t happen often. Maia was in an adjoining yard close to the barn as well, so it’s likely they spent some time together during the night and separated a bit early in the morning. Mara and Bambi are off in Yard 4 by the Lollipop tree.
There is a very carefree feeling here and the weather is a little bit breezy. For a few moments, you can take a deep breath, as though you haven’t a care in the world. Here’s hoping you have a minute to breathe today.

October 10, 2021 at 4:45 amWhat a lovely post, it’s good to hear. The simplest things matter and we all need that space to stop a minute and take a breath. I was thinking they all must have a favourite season the same as we do, there is such a different feel to each season and different joy to each 💚🌱🌾🐘🐘🐘
