Last month, we posted a wishlist of much-needed items that we hoped to bring from the US into Brazil after a brief trip to North America. As always, you came through quickly and with unmatched generosity and determination to purchase items, even when the wishlist was trying to prevent it 😉. We can’t emphasize enough how valuable these supplies are to the elephants and our staff. It seems that there’s nothing our supporters can’t and won’t do when we make requests for aid. 

We thought you’d enjoy seeing a photo of our stuffed-to-the-brim suitcases full of the purchases you sent. The international travel allowance per bag is 50 lbs (23kg) and weigh-in at the airport is always an anxious time for us, as we wait to see if our at-home luggage scale was accurate. Three of the bags were 50 lbs, 2 were 49, and 1 was 51, but all went through just fine. Because of everything that you purchased, we still have about another 5 suitcases full of items that we will be dividing up between the next individuals that travel to the sanctuary. Thank you for helping to take the best care possible of the lovely ladies here at ESB. You are their heroes.
