Despite everything else going on, Maia still found time today to celebrate her favorite holiday – #NationalNappingDay.
Our team probably won’t find the time to sneak in any naps today, but we hope you can find some time to nap like everyone’s favorite pond blob!

March 15, 2021 at 8:20 pmSo long as she keeps the pointy end of her trunk above the surface of the water. I suppose if the end slithers under then she will wake up in a hurry? Would it slither down if she is fast asleep? It really shows how safe and contented she must feel in Sanctuary.

March 15, 2021 at 9:45 pmLike most other mammals, elephants are great swimmers. If they need a breath, they use their trunks to get air. It’s very difficult for an elephant to drown.
