Maia had a nice relaxing morning. After breakfast arrived and was consumed, she gave herself a little mud bath and then went and took a nap under a tree. After Guida’s passing, Maia had been returning to the barn more often than she ever had in the past. But she hasn’t gone back to the barn once in the past four days. As always, we deliver her food to her and, when she is close to a fence line, apply some natural bug spray and give her a once over.
Rana usually comes back to the barn once a day, and it gives us the opportunity to do treatment. But both girls are also spending time together out in the habitat. For as worried as some people were that Rana wouldn’t get around well with her fused elbow, she has no problem racing to the pond and the other favorite spots around the habitat.
