One recent morning, we were surprised to see Mara, Bambi, and Rana all at the barn. We haven’t seen all three at the barn in the morning in months. It was a produce delivery day, so they picked a great day to be near the barn.
Mara was thrilled to receive the freshest of produce. She enjoyed these tiny round squash we got, the slightly unripe bananas, and the watermelon that arrived that day. The three spend the day in Yard 1 & 2. Lady was in the back of Yard 3 but didn’t even come down to see them.
Mara, Bambi, and Rana kept having noisy parties throughout the day, and we suspect Lady didn’t want anything to do with their nonsense. It’s her choice, but it made us smile a little that she wasn’t interested in their loud silliness.
At dinner time, we asked them to follow us back into Yard 4. Bambi was evidently ready to go because she ran after the four-wheeler. Everyone else was much slower, but they all finally made it into Yard 4. By the time we got up to the house, they were already done eating and at the pond. It seems that once they started moving, they kept moving.

February 15, 2021 at 3:58 pmWell composed photo. There are many attractions. Rana’s eye for one. It is very bright and clear. There is movement with Rana eating and the other two lumbering away. The bright blue sky and clouds also have movement. Well done. Prize winning!
